Grain characteristics namely 1000-Kernel weight, bulk density, color, tannin content and endosperm texture of three different lines of lines developed by the MaRCCI sorghum breeding program were tested. The three lines are ECO, FB and MAGIC and from the results obtained, line FB had the highest 1000-kernel weight of 41.6g and MAGIC had the lowest kernel weight of 15.1g. FB line also had the highest bulk density of 0.8g/ml. ECO line contained grains that were both colored and white, some of the colored grains contained tannins. The ECO line grains endosperm textures was majorly floury. The FB line grains were mainly white with a few colored, they were non-tannin and majority of them had a corneous endosperm texture. MAGIC line grains were majorly colored with a few white ones; they were all non-tannin and mostly had intermediate endosperm textures. The results from this study can be used in breed line selection.en_US
