Furthermore, the researcher used both the observation and interview as methods of data collection, there by being helped by the checklist and an interview guide as the tools for data collection. The researcher used the checklist to observe the technique, tool and color blending among others and on the other hand, used the questionnaire that was given to students of third year and the researcher used an interview guide to get the views of the structured textile lecturer who represented the whole.Main finding of the study was to point out how different artists at MTSIFA have used raffia as a weaving material, it has been dynamic, experimental and explorative for the past years to date and on the other hand to know about the tools and techniques used by students at MTSIFA.The low profile of raffia weaving techniques proceeding at the school has led to low knowledge about the trend of weaving techniques and the few who have taken interest in the trends have managed to recognize the changes hence a bright and glorious future of raffia weaving at the school.Researcher recommends hand-weaving students to research more about how quality raffia works can be achieved without hardship for example the use of simple and easy means machines like the new plastic nets that can be used when registering colors for different products. ItemAnalysis of ceramics mass production at MTSIFA Makerere University and surrounding areas( 2021) Tusiimire, IvanAnalysis of ceramics mass production at MTSIFA, Makerere University and surrounding areas. Research has shown that the ceramic making methods used at MTSIFA largely by students do not rhyme with the mission of the course industrial arts which encourages production of artworks in mas, mass-production. This research points out loopholes in the methods used in ceramic production at MTSIFA and discusses the possible solution. In visions of an economically-collapsed anarchic future, personal items and tools are hand-made because there is no other way for them to come into being, just as was the case in medieval times and in more recent pre-industrialized societies. Human labor was cheap, but objects were expensive, so only the rich had more than the most basic few possessions. Now days, objects have become cheap because of industrial mass production. This calls up the MTSIFA student to produce more in order to cope with competition in market. Data was collected by a valid reliable questionnaires, oral interviews and document analysis. The collected data were later then analysed. A total of ten students were question orally, 15 students filled questionnaires and observation as a tool of data collection was used to collect the practical activities and process of actual ceramic making. In conclusion, the findings helped to understand and analyse ceramic production at MTSIFA in this helped in brainstorming the possible solution to the current ceramic production by encouraging mass production of ceramics to meet the demand in the market.

Both open and close ended questions were developed in line with the objectives and literature review on variables. This was so in order to allow the expression of different people's views and opinions and to ensure wide coverage of opinions from the respondents. The study indicated that the causes of low quality printmaking art works in the department of art and design is actually still low compared to other products that are produced by some of other departments as well as those on the market and the major reason given was that students majorly learn from description than observation. They would emulate any quality work if at all they had. Thus, the lack of inspirational work. Secondary, the materials that these students use are not of good quality that is competitive enough. This is further more worsened by the inability of the students to access the expensive materials for printmaking that would give them good quality products, which is competitive enough in the market. In essence, therefore, the university can help by providing good quality materials and tools which will help them produce better/good quality printmaking art works.
