dc.description.abstractThe study was about the impact of employee satisfaction and engagement on organisational performance at the school of pyschology Makerere University as the case study. The purpose of this study was to establish the relationship between employee satisfaction, engagement and organisational performance in a public sector organisation The study methodology was quantitative and a correlational research designwas adopted. Purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used to select the sample from the the target population and a sample size of 40 respondents was used. Primary data was collected by the use of questionnaires which focused on answering the research questions. Secondary data was got from journals, articles, books, reports and websites in relation to the study objectives. Data was presented by the use of frequency tables and charts. Data was analyzed using statistical packages for social scientists (SPSS). Pearson correlation coefficience was calculated so to show the strength of relationship between employee satisfaction and employee engagement and their effect on organisation performance. These results suggest that effective organisational performance may be achieved by increasing each of the employee satisfaction and engagemet. Additionally, the these factors may be used to predict the future performance of organisations. Using the findings of this study, the reaercher recommended that managers in public organisations may be able to improve organisational performance by optimising employee satisfaction and engagement along the dimensions proposed in this study.en_US
