dc.description.abstractThe study examined the relationship between Self-esteem, Depression and academic performance among adolescents in Wakiso District. The study adopted a correlational survey design that employed a quantitative approach. Random sampling was used to select a sample of 49 participants and data was obtained using a self-administered questionnaire, later analyzed by use of Statistical Package for Social Scientist (SPSS). To test the hypothesis, Pearson correlation coefficient was used. Results revealed that there was a significant relationship between Self-esteem and depression among adolescents, results also revealed that there was no significant relationship between depression and academic performance among adolescents. Lastly, the study also showed a significant relationship between Self-esteem and academic performance among secondary school adolescents in Wakiso District. This study recommends that schools should adopt programs aimed at reducing depression among students to improve their wellbeing.en_US
