dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to examine the relationship between academic stress, perceived social support and depression among adolescents. The study was conducted at Caltec Secondary School located in Kampala District. A correlational study design was used and 100 school going adolescents participated in this study. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents. Semi-structured questionnaires were the main tools in data collection and data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient (r) was used to determine the level of significance of the hypotheses. Results indicated that that there is a significant relationship between academic stress and depression among adolescents. However, results revealed that there is no significant relationship between academic stress and social support as well as social support and depression among adolescents.en_US
