dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between working conditions, stress and employee engagement among workers of Bank of Africa. The study adopted a quantitative study design which was correlation in nature with a population of 35 employees. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 32 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and entered in the computer for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 23. Descriptive statistics showed that 75.0% of the respondents were male and 25.0% were female, majority were between 20-30 years (65.6%). Results from Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) further indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between working conditions and job stress, (r= -. 861**, p=.000), as job stress and employee engagement (r= -.562**, p=.000), however, there was significant positive relationship between working conditions and employee engagement, (r= .471**, p=.000). Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on the relationship between working conditions, job stress and employee engagement among employees in different financial institutions. It was recommended that the management of Bank of Africa, Luzira to needs to ensure that working conditions are improved in order to reduce on job stress of employees and improve employee engagement.en_US
