Domestic violence, child labor and school dropout among adolescents at Kisaikye Parish-Namasagali Sub-County, Kamuli District

Abstract

Despite the efforts made by the government of Uganda to achieve UPE and USE as part of the Education for All and Sustainable Development Goals, there are still many children who leave school at an early stage (Babimpa, 2018). There is limited information on the link between domestic violence, child labor and school dropout in Uganda. Thus, the study seeks to examine the relationship between domestic violence, child labor and school dropout. The study will be conducted at Kisaikye Parish – Namasagali Sub County, Kamuli District. The study area was selected purposively because of the many cases of school dropout in the district. The study will employ a correlation research design and data will be collected from a sample of 100 respondents. These participants will be selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis will be carried out using SPSS version 26 where Pearson product moment correlation coefficient will be sued to establish the relationship between the study variables.
