dc.description.abstractThe study examined the relationship between Perceived Social Support, Stress and self-esteem among first year students at Makerere University. The study was conducted at Makerere University. A correlational study design was used to investigate the relationships among the variables and the sample size was 100 first year students from both genders at the university. Semi structured questionnaires were the main tools in data collection and data was analyzed using statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Pearson Correlation (r) was used to determine the level of significance of the hypotheses. Results indicated that there is a significant relationship between perceived social support and stress, there is also a significant relationship between self-esteem and tress but however the study also concluded that there was no significant relationship between perceived social support and self-esteem among first year students at Makerere Universityen_US
