dc.description.abstract | This study set out to examine Stress, Peer Pressure, and Juvenile Delinquency among Adolescents in Kamwookya, Kampala Central Division.The study objective included the establishment of of the relationship between stress and peer pressure; the relationship between peer pressure and juvemile delinquency and the relationship between stress and juvenile delinquency among adolescentsl. The study used standard Questionnaires as method of data collection. Various literatures were reviewed indicating the relationship between stress, peer pressure and juvenile delinquency among adolescents. The study findings also observed that there is a significant relationship between stress and peer pressure, there is a significant relationship between peer pressure and juvenile delinquency and lastly there is a significant relationship between stress and juvenile delinquency among adolescents. The study concluded that stress, peer pressure and juvenile delinquency are interrelated among adolescents. The study recommends that awareness be created by government or organizations working with adolescents in the community to know the danger of stress and how adolescents should cope with their situations. The study also recommend that parents and caretakers of adolescents should be provided with basic skills and knowledge on how to guide their children on the type of friends they should be with in order to reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency which comes as the results of conforming to peer pressure. | en_US |
