dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between public service motivation, employee engagement and task performance among employees of public service. The study adopted a correlation research design with a sample size of fifty seven respondents. Data was analyzed using a Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) computer programme. Results indicated that there is a significant relationship between public service motivation and employee engagement. They also indicated there is significant relationship between public service motivation and task ask performance. The results also indicated a significant relationship between employee engagement and task performance. In conclusion, public service motivation and employee engagement had a significant implication on task performance. Therefore, organizations should embrace motivation and engagement of their employees in order to improve performance. Organizations should pay close attention to things like good pay, clear tasks, autonomy, allowances, good working conditions, so as to boost the morale of their employees to performen_US
