dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to examine the relationship between employee engagement, job satisfaction and job performance among Makerere University non- academic staff. The study specifically sought to find out how employee engagement is related to job satisfaction, how employee engagement is related to job performance and how job satisfaction is related to job performance. The analysis was carried out descriptively. However, inferential statistics particularly the Pearson’s Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC)was used to test the significance of the relationships between employee engagement, job satisfaction and job performance. The results indicated that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction. There is also a positive and statistically significant relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction and finally there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between job satisfaction and job performance. Basing on the findings the following recommendations were put forward; The management of Makerere University needs to improve the job satisfaction levels among its non- academic staff through providing quality supervision , increasing pay and incentives, providing a good working environment that is also includes presence materials to be used. This can help increase the satisfaction of its employees and in turn they can perform better on their jobs. High performance in the 21st century today demands innovation, flexibility and speed. Therefore, employers need to engage their employees especially by giving them participation, freedom and trust.en_US
