dc.description.abstractThe study aimed at examining the relationship between turn intentions, employee engagement and job performance among employee of Nansana Municipal Council Wakiso district. The study adopted a quantitative study design which was correlation in nature with a population of 70 employees. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 59 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and entered in the computer for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 23. Descriptive statistics showed that 63.3% of the respondents were female and 36.7% were male, majority was between 21-30 years (40.3%). Results from Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) further indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between turnover intentions and employee engagement, (r=.381**, p=.002), however, there was no significant relationship between turnover intentions and job performance, (r=.-075, p= .573). But there was a negative relationship between employee engagement and job performance, (r= -.614**, p=.000). Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on the relationship between turnover intentions, employee engagement and job performance among employees in different hospitals. It was recommended that the administration of Nansana Municipal Council should lay down strategies of improving employees’ engagement to improve their job performance, through increased productivity.en_US
