    Psychological wellbeing, employee engagement and job performance among workers at Makerere University

    Abstract
    The study will be carried out to investigate whether there is a significant relationship between employee engagement, job performance and psychological well-being among workers in Makerere University. The specific objective of the study will be to examine the significant relationship between employee engagement, job performance and psychological well-being among workers in Makerere University. The study is expected to have 100 respondents who will be randomly selected from different departments in Makerere University, Kawempe Division. Self-administered questionnaires will be used in data collection process the data will then be analyzed using the statistical software package for social sciences (SPSS). Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient will be used to determine the significance of the relationships among variable. The findings show that psychological wellbeing and job performance are positively and insignificantly related (p=.073 at r=.471) furthermore the findings show that Employee Engagement and Job Performance positively and insignificantly related (r=.761, P=.031). However, findings show that Employee Engagement and Job Performance are negatively and insignificantly related (P=.067, r=-.187). But it was recommended that the government, employers and non-government organization need to carry further research on other issues that might affect job performance. These may include anxiety, depression and traumas.
