dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between personality traits, occupational stress and psychological wellbeing. The study was intending to achieve objectives: To examine the relationship between personality traits and occupational stress, to ascertain the relationship between occupational stress and psychological wellbeing and to determine the relationship between personality traits and psychological wellbeing. The study was using sample of 59 respondents who were adopted using sampling technique data was collected using self-administered questionnaires and later analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Scientists). The findings show that personality traits and occupational stress are positively and significantly related (r=.551 at p=.000<0.01), furthermore the findings show that personality traits and psychological wellbeing are positively and significantly related (r=.692 at p=.000<0.01). However, findings show that occupational stress and psychological wellbeing are negatively and significantly related (r=-.263 at p=.000<0.01). But it was recommended that organizations should consider generalized personality tests at work during hiring process to enable a better fit of job and employees so as to avoid stressful conditions resulting from a misfit between personality and task assignments to enhance psychological wellbeing of Nurses in Mulago Hospital.en_US
