dc.description.abstractThis study was to investigate the relationship between Peer Pressure, Self Esteem and Substance Abuse among University Students among the university students. The study employed a qualitative research design using a correlational method to determine the relationship between the study variables. Data was analyzed using SPSS Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the relationship. The results also did not indicate a significant relationship between self-esteem and substance abuse among University students, which meant that no matter the level of self-esteem a student has, it cannot influence his or engagement into abusing substances. In addition, results indicated a significant relationship between peer pressure and substance abuse, which meant that if a student has friends who abuse substances; the chances of him getting involved in substance abuse are high.en_US
