    Social support, stress and delinquency among adolescents

    Abstract
    Delinquency refers to a minor crime, especially that committed by young people such as stealing from a store, truancy and gang fights. This study is aimed at examining the relationship between social support, stress and delinquency among school going adolescents in Kitante hill in Kampala central divison. The research employed a correlational survey research design with a sample size of 100 respondents who were selected by use of random sampling technique. Data was collected by use of self-administered questionnaire and was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23. Results revealed that there is a significant relationship between social support and stress among school going adolescents, there is a significant relationship between stress and delinquency among school going adolescents and lastly there is a significant relationship between social support and delinquency among school going adolescents.
