dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of this research was to find out the relationship between abusive supervision, job security and employee engagement. The developed objectives of the study were “to find out the relationship between abusive supervision and job security”, to find out the relationship between “job security and employee engagement and finally “to find out the relationship between abusive supervision and employee engagement. The study was carried out among 71 male and female employees at capital shopper’s supermarket Kampala. The study deployed a correlation research design to assess the relationship between abusive supervision, job security and employee engagement. Data was transformed into statistical information using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) and Pearson Product Moment, Correlation Coefficient (r) to find out whether the variables were correlating. Therefore, according to the analyzed data, the study observed, concluded and highlight that, there was no statistically significant relationship between abusive supervision and job security. The study further discovered that there was a negative significant relationship between job security and employee engagement, and finally, the study found out that there is no statistically significant relationship between abusive supervision and employee engagement. Therefore, research recommended that managerial actions should be developed to ensure that their supervisors are not abusive to their subordinates. This entail taking a zero-tolerance stance towards abusive supervisory behaviors and disciplining supervisors who engage in such behaviors.en_US
