| dc.description.abstract | The study was carried out to investigate whether there is a significant relationship between Family Violence, Parent - Child Relationship and Alcohol Abuse among Adolescents. The specific objective of the study was to examine the significant relationship between Family Violence, Parent-Child Relationship and Alcohol Abuse among Adolescents.
The study was had 100 respondents who were randomly selected from Kawempe Division. Self-administered questionnaires were used in data collection process the data was then be analysed using the Statistical Software Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to determine the significance of the relationships among variable.
The findings showed that Family Violence and Parent-Child Relationship were significantly related (p=.001 at r=.417) furthermore the findings showed that Parent-Child Relationship and Alcohol Abuse are positively and significantly related (P=.001, R=.317). However findings show that Alcohol Abuse and Family Violence are significantly related (P=.001, R=.517). But it was recommended that Monitoring and role modelling should be given prominence in schools, homes and community gatherings like at churches, mosques and also include in modelling good behaviours and involving adolescents in exciting youth programs. | en_US |
