The study aimed at studying the relationship between alcohol use, risky sexual behavior and coping strategies among youth in Wakiso district. The study adopted a correlation study design with a population of 138 employees from the entire organization. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 138 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) data was entered and analysed. Descriptive statistics showed that majority 50% female were followed by males with 50% of the total population, majority were between 17-21 years (53.6%). Results from Pearson product- moment correlation coefficient (r) further indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between alcohol use and risky sexual behavior (r= .645, p= 0.00), risky sexual behavior and coping strategies were significantly related (r =.417, p=.000) p=0.01 and there is a significant strong positive relationship between alcohol abuse and risky sexual behavior (r = .520 and p = 0.00). Thus, the findings of the study provided several recommendations to parents, school administration and society at large that parents should give sex education to their children at the puberty stage of their growth during the holidays and free time to equip them with the right knowledge on risky sexual behavior and alcohol use. The youth should abstain from sex and as for the adolescents, these should use condoms when engaging in any sexual activity to prevent themselves from contracting STIs and STDs. Furthermore, school administration is encouraged to perform regular checkups of the students’ dormitories and luggage at the time of school entry and all term round to ensure that all alcoholic substances are removed from the students.en_US
