The health of young people is strongly impacted upon by their sexual behavior and this study was about family planning and how it determines ones sexual behavior. This was a quantitative cross-sectional descriptive survey that employed exploratory research techniques to examine the relationship between family planning and sexual behavior among young people in Nakulabye Parish. It was built on the hypothesis that there is a significant relationship between family planning use and sexual behavior among young people. The study was conducted among 106 respondents and found that; 27.4 % were currently using 42.5 % had ever used family planning and condoms were used by 15.1 % while 5.7 % use implants of the sexually active. A moderate 52.8 % were sexually active and of these, 32 % involved in multiple relationships, 18.9 % involved in casual sex and 2.8 % involved in transactional sex. The relationship between; age of initiation of family planning use and sexual debut; (r = 0.515, n = 32, p = 0.003), age of initiation of family planning use and current number of sexual partners (r = 0.197, n = 32, p = 0.283), the age of initiation of family planning use and body count (r = -0.097, n = 32, p = 0.626) the total number of years spent using family planning and body count (r = 0.515, n = 32, p = 0.003) and total number of family planning methods ever used and body count (r = 0.515, n = 32, p = 0.003). There is low family planning use among the young people with condoms most used followed by implants, sexual activity is moderate and risky sexual behaviors; multiple sexual partnerships, transactional sex and casual sexual encounters are rampant in the study group. Generally, the variables family planning use and sexual behavior have a positive association that is statistically significant. Thus, the alternative hypothesis of the study is retained. Work towards improving access to condoms and other family planning methods to areas of no access, update of national sexuality framework for the young people to allow a more comprehensive approach and coverage of family planning use and education. Besides, conduct a study with a bigger population sample and slightly older socio-demographic composition of young people to compute the Chi-Square Tests for the sub-variables left out in this study.en_US
