dc.description.abstractThere is growing evidence of challenges with adherence to COVID-19 lockdown as a preventive measure of spread of COVID-19 and the impact of the lockdown on the psychosocial wellbeing and academic performance of University students in various parts of the world. A structured questionaire was distributed among 132 third year students of Bachelor of Industrial and Organisational Psychology whose bio data about COVID-19 lockdown, psychosocial wellbeing and academic performance scale was captured. The data consisted of descriptive and inferential statistics and was analyzed using statistical package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 . The findings show that there was no significant relationship between COVID-19 lockdown and psychosocial wellbeing among the students,(r=.095, p=.281). However the results also indicate that there is a relationship between COVID-19 lockdown and the academic performance among University students,(r=.167, p=.056). The findings also show that there is a significant relationship between psychosocial wellbeing and academic performance among University students (r=.181, p=.037). Basing on the results, COVID-19 lockdown had alot of impact on both the psychosocial wellbeing and academic performance of students.en_US
