dc.description.abstractThe study was aimed at the relationship between Perceived social support, stress and depression among school going adolescents. The study had 100 respondents who were randomly selected from their places of work. Self-administered questionnaires were used in data collection process the data was analyzed using the statistical software package for social sciences (SPSS). Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient was used to determine the significance of the relationships among variables. The findings of the study revealed that there is a that significant relationship between perceived social support and depression among school going adolescents (p=.002<0.05). The study also showed there is a relationship between stress and depression among school going adolescents (p=.052>0.05). The further showed that there is no significant relationship between perceived social support and depression among the adolescents (p=.340>0.05). Perceived social support is one of the most important parts of our daily lives which causes a great deal of stress. Due to the competitive nature of the school environment most of the students in the world are spending a lot of time joining bad peer influential groups while ignoring the purpose of going to school that has caused a lot of stress and depression especially during examination period since such students did not take enough time to prepare for examinationsen_US
