Occupational stress and employment performance among the staff of pride Microfinance limited.

The study on occupational stress and employee performance was carried out in pride microfinance. The main focus of the study was to identity the symptoms and causes of occupational stress, examine the factors that affect employee performance and establish the relationship between occupational stress and employee performance. The study adopted a correlational study design and was carried out on 30 respondents with the use of self-administered questionnaires. The study findings revealed that all the respondents have ever experienced stress from work and pointing out three symptoms of occupational stress such as physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms and these mainly affect their performance. Therefore the study concludes that occupational stress has a negative relationship with employee performance and the more stress, the less the employee will perform. The study recommends that organizations should ensure good working environment and ensure the employees are told about the stress that comes with the tasks they are performing
