Stress, perceived social support and self-esteem among school going adolescents

The study aimed at establishing the relationship between perceived social support and
stress. The participants were students from St. Mark’s College Namagoma. 109 students
participated in the research between the age of 18-25. They were randomly selected in order to
give equal chances to the population. A correlation study design was used to measure the
relationship between perceived social support and stress, perceived social support and self esteem
and self esteem and stress.
The study findings shows that there is no significant relationship between social support
and self-esteem, there is a significant relationship between social support and self-esteem and there
is no significant relationship between social support and self-esteem.
