The influence of education level and individual attitudes on voluntary HIV testing among Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) in Kabuyanda village, Central Ward, Isingiro
Abstract
This research study entitled The Influence of Education Level and Individual Attitudes on Voluntary HIV Testing among Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) was carried out in Kabuyanda Village, Central Ward, Kabuyanda Sub County Isingiro district, chosen because it is easily accessible to the researcher. Its objectives are as follows to examine the relationship between education level and voluntary HIV testing and to examine the relationship between individual attitudes and voluntary HIV testing. One of the significances of the study was that it enabled young adults acquire knowledge and awareness about HIV testing thus encourages them to go for voluntary HIV testing. The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between individual attitudes towards HIV Testing and voluntary HIV Testing clearly indicating that positive attitudes towards HIV testing will encourage more voluntary testing. The study further found that there is no significant relationship between level of education and individual attitudes towards HIV testing. Lastly the study found that there is no significant relationship between HIV testing and level of Education
