dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between employee engagement and organizational citizenship behavior among Kyambogo University lecturers. The study intended to achieve the following objectives, to examine the levels of employee engagement, to determine the levels of organizational citizenship behavior and to establish the relationship between employee engagement and organizational citizenship behavior among Kyambogo University lecturers. A co-relational survey design was used in the study to establish the relationship between the two variables. The study used a total sample of 34 respondents who were subjected to simple random sampling technique of sampling. Data was collected using self- administered questionnaires. The researcher analyzed data using SPSS version 20 and Hypothesis 3 was tested using Pearson correlation coefficient. The levels of employee engagement were found to be moderately high. Results revealed an averagely high levels of organizational citizenship behavior. Findings also revealed that there is a significant relationship between employee engagement and organizational citizenship behavior (r=.533, p<.0.01). The levels of employee engagement and organizational citizenship behavior among Kyambogo University lecturers are significantly related. Low levels of employee engagement are sometimes experienced in organizations today. This may be due to the fact that employees’ needs are not being met by organizations such as pay, promotion, rewards and other benefits that lowers their levels of engagement.en_US
