dc.description.abstractThis report presents a full account of the study carried out on stress, peer pressure and substance abuse among adolescents in Entebbe Municipality. The report comprises of five chapters, namely; introduction, literature review, methodology, results and finally discussions, conclusion and recommendations. The main objectives of this study; To examine the relationship between stress and substance abuse among the adolescents in Entebbe Municipality, to examine the relationship between stress and peer pressure among adolescents in Entebbe Municipality, to examine the relationship between peer pressure and substance abuse among the adolescents in Entebbe Municipality. In order to achieve the above objectives a well-structured questionnaire was administered to the population of interest and the data obtained was analysed using Ms-excel and SPSS using univariate and bivariate data analysis tools of frequency tables and Pearson correlation. In all cases, sex has remained a single major factor that influences substance abuse where it has been discovered that substance abuse is more prevalent among the males as compared to the females in the study area. Age, religion and year of study showed significant relationship with regards to stress, peer pressure and but not substance abuse. The results of this study are that most of the respondents get stress from their friends and families and also the proportion of respondents who have fallen victims of substance abuse is relatively small, but unfortunately that small percentage has a big multiplier effect especially through peer pressure. However, since most respondents get stress, substance abuse will soon as they resort to drugs as a way of running away from problems.en_US
