Social support, stress, delinquency among school going adolescents
Abstract
The study examined the relationship between social support, stress and delinquency among school going adolescents. The study employed a correlational research design.
Self-administered questionnaires with standardized research items were used to collect data A sample of 100 respondents which consisted of 27 males and 73 females, between the age 13 to 19 years was selected by use of simple random sampling technique. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 21. Pearson Correlation Coefficient ® was used to test the significance of hypotheses. Results indicated that there is a significant relationship between social support and stress. However, results revealed that there is no significant relationship between stress and delinquency, as well as social support and delinquency among school going adolescents.
