dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between employee engagement and employee performance among nurses of Lyantonde Hospital, kasambya. The study was intended to achieve the following objectives; to examine the relationship between employee engagement and employee performance and finally use the compiled literature in a real life setting to acknowledge the research. A quantitative study design was used in the study to establish the relationship between employee engagement and employee performance among nurses of Lyantonde Hospital kasambya. A sample of 49 respondents who were adopted by the randomization technique was used. Data was collected through a self-administered questionnaire and later analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) software version 23 using percentages, frequencies and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Descriptive statistics showed that there were more females (59.2%) compared to males (40.8%), majority participants were in the age group (25-30) years (32,7%). Results from percentages indicated there are high-level of employee engagement (85.7%) and high levels of employee performance (75.5%). Pearson product – moment correlation coefficient(r) further indicated that there was a positive relationship in the scores of employee engagement and employee performance, (r = 0. 292, p< 0.01). Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on the relationship employee engagement and employee performance employees in different institutions. It was recommended that the management of Lyantonde Hospital, Lyantonde needs to design policies that encourage employees in order to enhance job engagement of employees so as to improve their employee performance.en_US
