dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between transactional leadership, leader trust, and organizational citizenship behaviour among employees of Kyambogo University. The study adopted a cross sectional study design which was correlation in nature with a population of 100 employees. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 80 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and entered into the computer for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 23. Descriptive statistics showed that 75% of the respondents were male and 25% were female, majority were between 31- 40 years. Results from Pearson product-moment correlation (r) further indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between transactional leadership and leader trust. (r=-.475**, p=.006), as transactional leadership and organisational citizenship behaviour (r=-.399**, p=.000)
However, there was a significant positive relationship between leader trust and organisational citizenship behaviour, (r=.633**, p=.000). Therefor the present study provides a basis for further investigation on the relationship between transactional leadership, leader trust and organisational citizenship behaviour of employees of employees in different institutions. | en_US |
