dc.description.abstractThe as aimed at investigating the relationship between Parenting Styles, Depression and Academic Performance of Students at Makerere University. The study adopted a quantitative research design with are correlation method to investigate this relationship. A sample of 143 students were selected to participate in this study. Date obtained was analyzed using statistical package for social scientist version 23. The results from this study indicated that there was no relationship between parenting styles and academic performance of students the results also showed that relationship between here was no between depression and academic performance. Lastly the study results indicated that there is no relationship between parenting styles and depression. Therefore this study recommends that Universities and schools should offer resources such as counseling services and stress management workshops to help students manage their stress levels and improve their academic performance .stress can negatively impact academic performance. It is important for students to manage their stress levels in order to optimize their academic success.en_US
