dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to explore relationship between self-esteem, depression and coping strategies among Adolescents in Wakiso district Ndejje health centre IV. The sample comprised of 100 participants and quantitative approaches were employed. Correlation design were used to determine the association between three variables the results indicated that there’s a negative relationship between self –esteem and coping strategies (.048<05), there’s a negative insignificant relationship between elf-esteem and depression (.232>05 ) and there is a significant relationship between depression and coping strategies among adolescents in Wakiso district Ndejje health centre IV(.000<05). Recommendation, basing on this study, adolescents with good coping strategies are experience less stressful situations which reduces the risk of depression. It is hence important for parents and teachers to support these adolescents in coping with challenges that come with adolescence so as to lower the risk of depression among the students. In conclusion, Depression is one of the common conditions in primary care but is usually unrecognized and untreated. It has high mortality and mobility if left untreated. The adolescents experiencing depression usually complain of stress. The adolescents who apply poor coping strategies tend to have high stress levels which then crystalize into depression which is characterized by feelings of sadness, failure, hopelessness and rejection. There is this need to emphasize on seeking attention when these signs show.en_US
