dc.description.abstractThe study was aimed at investigating the relationship between self-esteem, depression and coping strategies among adolescents in Kampala district. The study adopted a quantitative research design with are correlation method to investigate this relationship. A sample of 100 students was selected to participate in this study. Data obtained was analyzed using statistical package for social scientist version 23. The results from this study indicated that there was no relationship between self-esteem and coping strategies among adolescents.(r=.014,p=.890). The study also indicated there was no relationship between self-esteem and depression (r=.112,p=.265) and lastly the study showed that there was no relationship between depression and coping strategies (r=-.009,p.932). Basing on this study, adolescents with good coping strategies are experience less stressful situations which reduces the risk of depression. It is hence important for parents and teachers to support these adolescents in coping with challenges that come with adolescence so as to lower the risk of depression among the students.en_US
