dc.description.abstract | The main objective of the study was to investigate the relationship between sexual pre-occupation, sexual optimism, sexual self-problem management and sexual risky behavior. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design with attempt to collect data at a specific point in time by using a self-administered questionnaire. A sample of 67 students was selected to participate in this study. Data was gathered using self-administered questionnaire. Data obtained was analyzed using correlational in the SPSS version 25. The study findings showed that there is no significant relationship between sexual pre-occupation and risky sexual behavior. Furthermore, sexual optimism is not significantly related to sexual risky behavior. Finally, the findings show that there is weak positive relationship between sexual self-problem management and sexual risk behavior.
From the study results, the following conclusions were made that is. The findings show that sexual pre-occupation is not significantly related to sexual risky behavior, which means that people who are less sexually pre-occupied are more likely not to have sexual risky behaviors. The findings further show that sexual optimism is not related to sexual risky behaviors, which signifies that sexually optimistic people are more likely not to have sexual risky behaviors. Finally, the findings also show that sexual self-problem management is not significantly related to sexual risky behaviors, meaning that people with sexual self-problem management are less likely to have sexual risky behaviors.
From the summary of findings, the following recommendations were made;
The university should aim at reducing sexual pre-occupation since it increases chances of not having sexual risky behaviors hence reducing sexually transmitted diseases from the university.
The university should aim at extending sensitization programs to students about sexual optimism and sexual self-problem management since they increase chances of getting sexual risky behaviors | en_US |
