dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance among Health workers in the university hospital. The study was guided by four specific objectives that is; to determine the level of job satisfaction in Makerere University hospital; to determine the factors influencing job performance and satisfaction in the hospital; to review the relationship between Job satisfaction and job performance among Employees at Makerere University hospital, to examine the factors influencing the welfare on job performance and job satisfaction and lastly to examine the factors that influencing quality of supervision on job performance and job satisfaction and job performance. The hypothesis of the study was that, there is strong positive relationship between job satisfaction and job performance at a 0.01 level of significance. The study used a case study design because it presented an opportunity to carry out an in depth investigation of the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance. Besides a case study design was chosen because the problem at hand thus job performance is paramount in the general performance and growth of the organization Both qualitative and quantitative research techniques were used in both analysis and data collection. Data was analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis, t-test, factor analysis and ANOVA. The study revealed that there was a high level of job satisfactions and job performance among employees in the Makerere university hospital. The study concluded that despite the existence of high levels of job satisfaction in some areas, the performance of the employees was generally high too.en_US
