dc.description.abstractCareer choice significantly impacts different aspects of most people’s lives, which constantly require improvement. Therefore, this research study aimed at examining the factors that influence students career choices at Makerere University. The study was qualitative and the design used was descriptive in nature. Data was collected from participants in form of semi-structured interviews with the help of an interview guide. The results were then analyzed thematically by obtaining the common patterns and peculiar aspects that emerged from the interviews. These themes were thereafter compared with results from previous studies to determine the impact of this study. The study found out that family, individual preferences and abilities, and career guidance greatly influence students’ career choices. Outstanding as these maybe, several factors interrelate to determine one’s career choice.en_US
