Stress, perceived social support and self esteem among adolescents.
Abstract
The study aimed at establishing the relationship between perceived social support and stress. The participants were students from Forest Hill College Mukono. 150 students participated in the research between the ages of 17-22. They were randomly selected in order to give equal chances to the population. A correlation study design was used to measure the relationship between perceived social support and stress, perceived social support and self esteem and self esteem and stress.
The study findings showed that there is no significant relationship between social support and self-esteem, there is a significant relationship between social support and self-esteem and there is no significant relationship between social support and self-esteem.
