dc.description.abstractThe study was aimed at investigating the relationship between Domestic Violence, Self-esteem and Coping Strategies among Adolescent in Kisoro District. The study adopted a quantitative research design with are correlation method to investigate this relationship between variables. A sample of 100 students were selected to participate in this study. Date obtained was analyzed using statistical package for social scientist version 25. The results from this study indicated that there was no relationship between domestic violence and coping strategies among adolescents (r=-104, p=.305). The results also showed that there no relationship between domestic violence and self –esteem among adolescents (r=.066, p=.515). Finally, the study results indicated that there is no relationship between self-esteem and coping strategies among adolescents (r =. -044, p =.664). This study recommends that Parents and professionals working with adolescents should focus their efforts on teaching and modeling coping strategies that are nonreactive. The focus should be placed on coping strategies that directly address solving the problem. Parents and professionals need to focus on teaching adolescents that dealing with a particular problem is much more effective and healthier than ignoring or withdrawing from the problem.en_US
