Perceived work environment, motivation and performance among employees at Makerere University Hospital
Abstract
The purpose of this study is aimed at investigating the relationship between Perceived work environment, Motivation and Performance among employees of Makerere University Hospital. The study adopted a quantitative research design a correlational study design that is quantitative was adopted to establish the relationship between the study variables. Data collected was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), where a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) was used to test the significance of the hypotheses. The findings from this study indicated that there is a positive significant relationship between perceived work environment and motivation (r=.602**, p=.000) the findings also showed that there is a significant relationship between motivation and job performance,(r=.776**, p=.000). Implying that motivated employees have high performance rate. Lastly the findings showed that there is a significant negative relationship between perceived work environment and job performance (r=-.393**,p,= .004). Implying that poor working environment has a negative effect on job performance.
