The purpose of this study was to establish the relationship between stress, shift work and work performance. A quantitative study design was used and correlation employed to establish the relationship. The study involved a sample of 50 respondents using simple random sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS). The findings of the study showed a significant relationship between stress and shift work (r=.482**, p=.002) and concluded that as much as there is shift in work, nurses still experience stress. Also, a significant relationship between shift work and work performance, (r=.213**, p=.004) was found which implies that performance increase with the increase in shiftwork. On the other hand, .there was no relationship between stress and work performance(r=.014, p= .932) which implies that much as nurses experience stress, they may still have high levels of performance.en_US
