dc.description.abstractMany students engages in substance abuse which is attributed to Stress, and Depression. This research was aimed at investigating the relationship between Stress, Substance abuse and Depression among students of Makerere University. A correlational study design that quantitative and descriptive was adopted to establish the relationship between the variables. Total of 123 respondents, both male and female participated in the study. Data collected was analyzed using statistical package for social sciences [SPSS],where Pearson correlation co efficient [r] was used to test the significance of hypotheses .The study revealed that there was significant relationship between is a significant relationship between substance abuse and depression,; the study also revealed that there was a significant relationship stress and depression among university students. The study further showed that stress and substance abuse have significant relationship.en_US
