dc.description.abstractThis study seeks to explore the technique of symbolism in selected rutooro proverbs. Proverbs are used in research studies worldwide irrespective of the cultural and linguistic differences. In this case study I will research about the use of symbolism in selected rutooro proverbs. Primary and secondary sources of data were consulted for this research project. Collection of primary data included talking to the elderly Batooro who were vast and well equipped with rutooro proverbs and what they symbolized in the tooro society. Secondary data involved published books, journals, reports and articles among others. Findings indicate symbolism portrayed in rutooro proverbss, the analysis of the selected rutooro proverbs display two levels of meaning, the denotative and connotative.en_US
