Motivation, job satisfaction and employee productivity among the Staff of Rubaga hospital
Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between motivation, job satisfaction and employee productivity among staff of Rubaga Hospital. The study intended to achieve the following objectives: to establish the relationship between motivation and job satisfaction among the staff of Rubaga Hospital, to assess the relationship between motivation and employee productivity among the staff of Rubaga Hospital and to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and employee productivity among the staff of Rubaga Hospital.
A correlation study design was used in the study to establish the relationship between motivation, job satisfaction and employee productivity of staff of Rubaga Hospital. The study used a sample of 75 respondents who were adopted through use of a simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using self- administered questionnaires and later analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists version 20.
The findings show that there is a significant relationship between motivation and job satisfaction since (p=.000<.01) at (r=.655**). The findings show that there is a significant negative relationship between motivation and employee productivity since (p=.011<.05) at (r=-293*). The findings show that there is a significant negative relationship between job satisfaction and employee productivity since (p=.000<0.01) at (r=-405**).
In conclusion, it should be noted by the management of Rubaga hospital that there are other factors that cause employee productivity other than motivation and job satisfaction
