Job satisfaction and turnover intentions amongst employees in organizations

Abstract

The study sought to find out levels of Job satisfaction and turnover intentions and establish a relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intentions among employees of Muvubuka Agunjuse Adolescents' Reproductive Health Project under Kisenyi Health Center IV. A correlation design was adopted. A total of 30 questionnaires were randomly distributed among respondents. The researcher used self-administered questionnaires which consisted of closed ended questions to collect information from the respondents. Data was entered into computer using statistical package for social scientists (SPSS). Findings of the study indicated that there is a negative relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intentions; there are moderate to high levels of job satisfaction among employees of Muvubuka Agunjuse Adolescents' Reproductive Health. The researcher concluded that the study revealed a negative relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance in relation to turnover intentions amongst employees. However the researcher suggested Turnover levels can be highly reduced if employers put factors that increase job satisfaction into consideration e.g. salary increments, promotions, psychological empowerment etc.
