Decent work environment, employee engagement and job satisfaction among employees at Direct Access Limited
Abstract
This paper explored the relationship between decent work environment, employee engagement and job satisfaction. Many researchers have focused on the relationships and effect of employee engagement and job satisfaction in work places yet these alone are not the only concepts that affect employees at work.
My research explored this relatively new concept called decent work environment which includes things like Remunerative employment, conditions of work ,social security, rights of working people ,social dialogue i.e. collective bargaining. This is because it affects employee’s productivity and behavior which is manifested in employee engagement and job satisfaction in or with the organization. Decent work environment is a key mechanism to maximize labour force potential and fuel gains in productivity
The research was a cross sectional study of the three contracts. The data was collected using self-administered questioners and it was carried out in an organizational called Direct Access Limited.
The finds of my research are vital to organizations because frankly not many organizations or close to non-have put emphasis on Decent Work Environment and yet the business atmosphere in today’s world is all about creating a competitive advantage over other players in one’s field. The competitive advantage is sometimes got from work force so the findings will help organizations better understand ways of creating competitive advantage through their human resource my appreciating the effects of a decent working environment on their employees.
