Satisfaction and employee performance. It was guided by three objectives; to examine the relationship between job characteristics and employee performance, to examine the relationship between job characteristics and job satisfaction, to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance.
The research design was a correlation design and a sample of 80 workers selected was used. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings revealed a significant positive relationship job characteristics and job satisfaction since p is less than .01 in magnitude (r= .361, p= .001), a significant negative was revealed in the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance since (r =.-111, p>.01). Similarly a negative significant was revealed in the relationship between job characteristics and employee performance since (r= -.111 p>0.01).
It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between job characteristic and job satisfaction however job satisfaction and employee performance having a negative relationship similarly to job characteristic and employee performance. Employers at the Insurance Institute of Uganda should work upon job characteristics putting in place all the work designs creating job satisfaction to the employees hence a better performance.
It was recommended that other researchers should use different methods of collecting data like observation, interview and others when carrying out research on job characteristic, job satisfaction and employee performance. Employers at the Insurance Institute of Uganda should create elements of job characteristics putting all the work designs in place making their employees satisfied hence a better performance. | en_US |
