    Work-related stress, organizational commitment and job satisfaction among the staff of Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited

    Abstract
    The research will investigate the relation between work related stress, organizational commitment and job satisfaction among employees of Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL). The objective is to find out the relationship between works related stress and organizational commitment, organizational commitment and job satisfaction and work related stress and job satisfaction and to establish how work related stress, organizational commitment and job satisfaction are related. The study will be carried out using correlation design, questionnaires will be used to collect data from respondents. The sample will constitute of 70 employees of Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL). Data will be analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Pearson correlation coefficient(r) will be used to test the relationships. The study findings indicates that; there is no significant relationship between work related stress and organizational commitment, there is no positive relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction, there is a negative significant relationship between work related stress and job satisfaction. In conclusion, work related stress needs to be mitigated if organizations are to have committed employees. Organizations need to develop stress management strategies like giving training of stress management skills so that employees can be in position to mitigate stress. This will enable employees to develop positive feelings and attitudes towards the organizations like high commitment levels.
