dc.description.abstractThe study aimed at examining the relationship between parenting styles, self-esteem and academic achievement among adolescents. A sample of 100 adolescents between 15 to 20 years of ages both girls and boys in Rukungiri where data was obtained. Data was collected using a combination of self-administered questionnaires for assessing parenting styles, self-esteem and academic performance among students. Data was analyzed using statistical Package for social sciences (SPSS) specifically Pearson product moment correlation. Findings indicated that there was a significant relationship between parenting styles and academic performance among adolescents, there was a significant relationship between self-esteem and academic performance among adolescents, there was no significant relationship between parenting styles and self-esteem among adolescents, this study recommends that parents should ensure proper child up bringing to improve students’ performance.en_US
