| dc.description.abstract | The study sought to I identify the relationship between work-related stress, self-esteem and depression among young adult workers in Kampala (N=100) between the age bracket of 18-30.The research was quantitative in nature and Participants were selected using systematic random sampling technique, questionnaires were distributed to a sample of workers around Makerere university from various faculties and positions for a pilot study. The study involved a critical review of the existing literature which was obtained through internet, journals articles, and library books. Then row data was captured from completed questionnaire sheets entered into statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) for analysis. Frequencies and percentages were used for descriptive statistics and the hypothesis were tested using the Pearson correlation Coefficient (Ho 1).It was found out that there is no significant relationship between work related stress and self-esteem among young adult workers.H0 2, There is no significant relationship between self-esteem and depression among young adult workers in Kampala. H0 3. There is no significant relationship between stress and depression among young adult workers. In conclusion, the study indicated it is not only work related stress that leads to low self-esteem, there are also other factors that affect depression and stress directly leads to depression | en_US |
