dc.description.abstractThe study aimed at examining the relationship between training, employee motivation and job performance among employees of Jinja regional referral hospital. The study was guided by the following: To examine the relationship between training and employee motivation among employees; To find out whether training and job performance are significantly related.; To examine the relationship between employee motivation and job performance. Furthermore, a correlational research design was adopted for this study. In addition, simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 93 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaires and through entering fully filled questionnaires into computer software program called Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23, data was analyzed. Results from Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) indicated that there is no significant relationship between training and employee motivation; there is a significant relationship between training and job performance. Similarly, no significant relationship between employee motivation and job performance. Although no significant relationship was found among the three study variable, it is important for management to conduct refresher training courses for their employees, motivate them while using a number of strategies as these have been realised to improve employee performance. Therefore, future researchers should consider using both qualitative and quantitative techniques for purposes of clarifying why no significant relationship exists between training, employee motivation and job performance.en_US
